A Team Led by Cheng Yongwen, Mayor of Wuhan, visited CRIntermodal Wuhan Terminal on a Trip of Survey

On August 17, 2021, Cheng Yongwen, Deputy Secretary of CPC Wuhan Committee, Mayor of Wuhan, Commander of Wuhan Municipal Epidemic Prevention and Control Headquarters, and Chen Jinchao, Member of CPC Wuhan Committee and Vice Mayor of Wuhan, visited CRIntermodal Wuhan Terminal on a trip of survey of the prevention and control of the Covid19 epidemic and the operation of CR Express (Wuhan). On a seminar, the leaders stressed that by implementing important instructions of Xi Jinping, CPC General Secretary, in accordance with the requirements of CPC Hubei Provincial Committee and Hubei Provincial Government, more efforts were needed to prevent the ports for water transport and land ports from imported epidemic spreading, improve the market competitiveness of CR Express (Wuhan), and contribute to building the "five centers" and serving the overall opening-up of Hubei Province and the whole country.
Mayor Cheng highly appreciated of the efforts by the District Government and CRIntermodal Wuhan Terminal after hearing reports on epidemic prevention and control and operation of CR Express (Wuhan). He pointed out that work procedures for epidemic prevention and control should be revised and adjusted in a timely manner according to the development of the epidemic to ensure that the regulations are implemented in place; pay close attention to the key parts, key personnel, key process, make early detection, early tracking, early preparation, and early disposal to ensure that potential risks are eliminated timely; implement epidemic prevention measures for during and after entry and make sure to avoid cargo flow peaks and facilitate quarantine for all factors, make strict management for imported cargo operations especially for cold-chain food and ensure proper management of people and goods; consolidate the responsibilities of units in charge and local CPC committees and governments, improve the working mechanism that combines regular and targeted epidemic prevention and control with local emergency response, ensure that duties are fully facilitated, in an effort to build a tight safety net for epidemic prevention and control for ports and railway block trains.
Meanwhile, he pointed out that the CR Express is an important carrier and platform for Wuhan to integrate into the “Belt and Road” initiative and serve the new development pattern. It is necessary to stand on the political height of serving the national strategy and set high standards for development goals; focus on improving functions, accelerate the transformation from a cargo depot to a logistics park, continue to increase the development of the CR Express, and build CRIntermodal Wuhan Terminal into an important hub for CR Express under the Belt and the Road Initiative.
